Today’s Google Doodle honors Gilbert Baker. Baker is credited with creating the LGBT rainbow flag. June being Gay Pride Month, the flag will be flying in parades and celebrations all over the country. The flag’s colors stand as an message of inspiration to us all: Red for Life, Orange for Healing, Green for Nature, Blue for Harmony and Violet for Spirit.
At a time where hateful individuals challenge diversity in our country, the flag stands strong as a positive and celebratory symbol to power of the human spirit and the beauty of the souls of our gay brothers and sisters.
